PRESS STATEMENT: Response to Youth detained for planning attack on Jews leaving synagogue

On behalf of the Assemblies of God of Singapore, I am deeply concerned that another youth has been detained for acts of terrorism in Singapore. This being the second case of a thwarted terror attack on a place of worship in recent months tells us that we cannot take the peace we have as a nation for granted.

As a nation that has intentionally built unity among racial and religious groups over the years, we need to continue strengthening the religious fabric by being a gracious society in our speech and actions.

This is a time for all in Singapore to stand together, regardless of religion, to propagate and uphold peace and unity. All of us need to look out for those who are easily impressionable and be vanguards to preserve the multi-racial, multi-religious fabric in our nation.

General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God of Singapore
